How a review works

A deliverable goes out as a version. The client opens it, leaves comments on that version, and either approves it or asks for changes. The approval is recorded against the checksum of the exact file they saw.

Versions
Never overwritten.
A new version is added beside the last one. What the client approved last month is still there, exactly as it was.
Approvals
Pinned to a checksum.
An approval belongs to one file, byte for byte. Change the file and it is a new version with no approval — as it should be.
